planned my $50K-feel wedding for $10K ✨
weddings · money · home · life
particular taste, practical choices 🌿

If I could go back, I’d start here. If you’re If I could go back, I’d start here.

If you’re in your 20s or 30s, these are some of the things I’d learn sooner.

Nothing revolutionary. Just the things that have slowly changed how I make decisions, who I keep close, what I spend money on, and what I let take up space in my life.

✨ Save this. Your future self might need a few of these.

1. Stop treating everything like it matters equally.
Some things really matter. Some things just feel urgent because everyone else is making them feel urgent. Learning the difference saves a lot of energy.

2. Figure out what matters to you before everyone else has an opinion.
If you don’t know your priorities, it’s very easy to start living by someone else’s.

3. Pay attention to the people you can actually relax around.
The people you don’t have to perform for, explain yourself to, or wonder where you stand with. Those people are rare.

4. A “no” you mean is better than a “yes” you resent.
I’m still learning this one. Obligation can take over your time if you let it.

5. Spend more on what matters to you. Spend less on what doesn’t.
Not everything expensive is worth it. And not everything cheap is actually saving you anything.

6. How something felt will usually stay with you longer than how it looked.
A home. A friendship. A relationship. A celebration. You remember the feeling.

7. Peace is something you build.
Through the people you keep close, the boundaries you hold, and the things you stop giving access to your energy.

8. You’re allowed to want a life that doesn’t impress everyone.
A beautiful life and an impressive life aren’t always the same thing.

9. Intentional doesn’t mean perfect.
It just means knowing what matters to you and trying to make your choices from there.

I used to think a good life came from getting more things “right/perfect.”

Now I think it’s more about getting clearer on what actually deserves to matter in the first place.

Still figuring that one out too. 🤍
